Andrasch, Mathias

Electrical Engineer and Scientist, specialty in Microwave Engineering

Dr. Mathias Andrasch received his bachelor degree in 2005 and his master degree in electrical engineering in 2006 from University of Applied Science in Stralsund, Germany. From 2006 until 2008, he worked at the Leibniz Institute of Plasma Science and Technology e. V. (INP Greifswald) in the field of high frequency engineering and atmospheric pressure microwave discharges. At the same time, he studied physics to obtain the PhD admission in plasma physics.

In 2009 he started his PhD in physics on “Investigation and optimization of the plasma microwave interaction of a specific plasma source”, which he successfully finished in 2015. His area of expertise covers engineering and research topics, like the development of atmospheric pressure plasma devices, industrial research and the electromagnetic compatibility of plasma devices. Furthermore, the research on microwave-induced plasma for sanitizing and its transfer to industrial scales, development of closed loop control technology for atmospheric pressure plasmas, are important research topics. These subjects are accompanied by several diagnostic methods, like microwave interferometry and hot S-Parameter measurements.
